Tank Hydrotesting
We will start this page with a brief question, what is hydro-testing? It is a process where a high pressure tank is tested to ensure the integrity of the material used to contain the contents of the tank. This is done by a fairly simple process, the take will be pressurized way beyond its normal maximum pressure and then checked to see how much it has expanded. If after all of this chaos the tank has retuned to its original size and there is no permanent damage it is approved to continue to use for a pre-determined amount of time. Most paintball tanks need to be tested every 5 years, others every 3 years, we can help you determine the duration of your tank when you bring it in.
The process of hydrotesting is generally reserved for compressed air tanks as it does cost about $29 which is more than it would cost to purchase a new CO2 tank. You can expect us to have your tank for about 7-10 working days to complete the process, in the winter expect a longer turnaround. If you are not sure how to tell when your tank needs testing you can bring it in to our shop or take a high quality picture of the numbers on the tank and
email it to us.
